OMG SHE IS GONNA GO!

Well it's been a long time since I've posted here. A lot has happen as in time has come and passed, well lets get to it.

I am going to sell Rakura ( Boy & Girl Doll Female body with male Afra Elf head). >.> I am just trying to gather what accessories I will include with her (huge heads up head cap is broken and very fritzy when trying to put wig caps on. >.> I am going to fix her face up so she has a more softer look but then I think I am just going to leave it plain like how I got her. It's been a love hate relationship with this doll and I think it's time to find something that I will love. I am not going to sell her for the full price of 400.00 I was thinking about 200-300 with shipping included. something of the sorts.

A Solution To The Problem To Finally Move On.

Remember how the head cap was damage when I first received it. Well  the seller known as Jack AKA rennisauncefashion on Ebay, said that he would send me a new head but it will take awhile. again I have waited a while and again he failed to keep his word. This has driven me to a point that he should let me keep the doll, give me my money back. or just give me a bran new doll. Which again I doubt he would keep his word.
Oh and contact with him is horrible.
I spent the 3-4 days researching the adhesives at my work and landed across this  little fella. I  glued it  and it's much like Elmer's glue but for hard plastics and other materials. I tried a spot on the head cap, it dried clear and could be scratched away leaving no residue or marks. I then glued the piece. and little Rakura decides to do a back flop on the desk causing the piece to loosen again. ( I know yell at me what was I doing) but it wasn't fully cured. Now that it's fully cured after reglueing it a second time it's holding pretty well, and I am just glad her head cap doesn't move now.

My set up for my first face up.

Ta da!
After 8 hours of work this is my end result of my first face up. I think I need to go a little darker on her blushing, but still not bad, not bad at all.

Then To My Surprise, My friend Chris bought her another wig that I was eyeing and I trimmed the bangs on it so you could see her face, as well it braids nicely. Note her little silicone bracelets, I got them from a $1.00 necklace that my hardware store sells as a novelty kids toy.

Pleates Are NOT My Friend.

So, part of having a BJD (Ball Jointed Doll) is that you get to make your own clothes for your doll or other dolls. So I am OK I need to get patterns started. I need to get my name out there. I need to get the experience in there. And heck, I made doll clothes before for barbies and Bennie Babies how difficult can it be.

Heads up it helps to have a $3,000.00 PFAFF machine to make this task less difficult.

The machine worked great at first sewing two layers just fine, and the foot lever is broken it seems that over the time and being in the heat it broke down the materials so it no longer worked. (Brings scary thoughts of doll being in heat and sun.) I double layer the material with the idea to make the pleats stiffer to hold better, and the material to not be so see through. I also shortly learned I didn't cut enough extra length. So the folds have to be adjusted to be wider, in doing so in it looks good at first but after wards it looks so much more like just a plain ruffle skirt. I even ironed the material to have the folds stay in place and it seems to only have made the material fade. Sad Face. And This is when I find out my sewing mach. is now fully acting up. Between bobbin tension too tight, Needle not going through 4 layers of fabric, and I using a denim and thick material needle. I just couldn't find my solution.

The Machine that I will find out what's wrong with it if it kills me.
The skirt partially finish on a furniture decor wire manikin SD size from Joanns. It works quite well.

Tips will help. I think I will be starting from scratch when my weekend starts.
